Flat-Coated Retriever

The Flat-Coated Retriever was originally developed as a dual-purpose retriever of game on land and from water, and he’s still popular for that purpose today. He also competes in obedience, rally, and agility is a super therapy dog and is an ideal companion for people who are looking for an active dog breed.

 

Flat-Coated Retrievers are enthusiastic, confident, and outgoing.  They are a loving family pet and are ideal for hunters with small children. They have an excellent sense of smell and are sometimes used as drug sniffers.  They are an eager quick learning breed, but are a slow maturing dog, as they do not reach full maturity until 3–5 years of age.

 

Males to be 23–25 in (58–64 cm) tall - weight of 60–80 lb (27–36 kg),

Females to be 22–24 in (56–61 cm), weight of 55–75 lb (25–34 kg).
